DAGMAR VERFAILLE

I am not a man of many words. In fact, I feel that the description of your work can really take away the charm of its visuality.

But I’m pretty sure you want to know at least a thing or two about me, so I’ll try my best to explain who I am and what I do.

I believe in beauty as I see it.
Something beautiful can sometimes attract me only because of its purity, its simpleness. Other times it’s just because of the complexity that I come to like something, or because of the beauty of a repeading pattern. If that sounds a little vague to you, let me put it this way: I don’t have any standards for what is and what isn’t ‘art’, or ‘beautiful’. This is the only way I feel I can evolve as a designer, to reach out to every aspect of life. Inspiration can be the result of a temporary obsessment with fractals, though I’m most certainly not a mathematician. But I can as well be inspired by a mandala crochet pattern my wife is working on, or by buildings, movements, and like a thousand other things.

I have always loved the beauty of honesty.
It allows us to be the person that we want to be, the person that we are. Staying true to myself, watching my own work very critically and accepting the fact that there’s always room for improvement: all of these aspects allow me to stay the down-to-earth person that I am. I want to keep evolving, as a person, as a designer. Developing skill, taste and admiration for fellow tattoo artists is essential to be able to do that.

I am not the ‘big artist’, I’m just an ordinary familyguy living life the way I want to, using my skills to create a way of life that’s filled with simple and complex beauty. And tattooing is the perfect way for me to live life exactly as I want to live it.

I hope you enjoy my work. In fact, I hope you can enjoy it for as long as possible.

*Always in search for a divine pattern
Always in search for the pure beauty in a drawing
Always in search for something
That takes my breath away*

SOFIE DE JONGHE

My husband has an incredible talent for creating the most beautiful pieces of art: on your skin, on paper, on canvas, on walls… Drawing, sketching, painting and tattooing has been a part of our relationship from the moment we’ve met, and it really defines our lives: nothing is impossible with a little bit of imagination. What Dagmar does is not a job, not a hobby, it’s his life.

That’s why we work on this project together. Dagmar creates, and I try make sure that’s all he needs to do. That means, when you e-mail us to make an appointment, it will be me answering your questions. When you call us, it will be me on the other side of the phone. When you order something from our webshop, I will send it to you. And when you have any questions, I’ll be glad to answer them.

Besides that, I’m very lucky to be able to take care of our 2 kids every day: after school, during school breaks and whenever it’s necessary. I’m like a part-time stay-at-home-mum, and I really enjoy it.

When I’m not doing anything of the above, I’m probably sewing, knitting or crocheting. You can read all about that on my blog, misterandmissesv.blogspot.be.

I hope you’ll feel very welcome in our shop, I’m so happy I can share my admiration for Dagmar’s work with ALL of you!

STUDIO

To make an appointment, you can e-mail us at contact@tattoodagmar.be or you can contact us on 0032 496 07 96 29.

One of our main priorities is to welcome you in a calm and quiet atmosphere. To accomplish that, there are no walk-ins in our shop. This means you always need to make an appointment beforehand, even for a short get-together about the design. This guarantees a private and comfortable session for all our customers, without any disturbance.

All tattoos are custom work; every single one is drawn exclusively for each client. The artwork or sketches made for your tattoo will not be sent to you by mail, but will be available at the shop on the day of your first appointment. Dagmar will make sure there’s enough time at that moment to make any changes or to add specific wishes.

All custom work is devided into the categories poetic and ornamental. For other styles, we will be glad to refer you to specialized tattoo artists that can provide you with the right piece of art.
Feel free to contact us if you have any doubts about whether or not your project is suitable for Dagmar, or if you would like to be referred to another artist.

If you have ANY other questions, always feel free to contact us. We are aware of the importance of your personal project and understand that you want everything to be clear in advance. You can shoot your questions!
* Please don’t panic if we don’t answer your mail or phonecall immediately, it takes time to provide everyone with the right answers and suitable advice *

Come in, make yourself at home. Grab a cup of coffee or some tea, have a seat in our coach and relax. We’ll take care of everything else.

ATELIER d

As there’s not enough skin for all of Dagmar his ideas, some of his drawings are printed on canvas. These are always limited editions (10 of each, signed and numbered), this way you can buy an affordable but unique piece of art.

All the canvasses are available in our webshop, atelierd.bigcartel.com

On top of that, Dagmar likes to work on wood. His paintings on wood are unique pieces of art, from time to time you will see some new ones appear in the webshop.

If you have any questions about our terms of sales or shipping fees, please feel free to contact us.
